Through years of teaching in education, I’ve seen the direct effect of the darkness and brokenness of this world reflect onto students. God placed a fiery passion within my heart to take a stand, leaving the classroom as an educator, and called upon me into a life of ministry serving Him through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). In the midst of the storm, a spiritual awakening of revival is brewing over campuses across California and it’s time to stand boldly in our faith.

We are not called in this life to pursue God’s call all on our own. It takes a community of believers to stand firm in their faith and boldly support one another in the name of Jesus. I ask that you continually pray over our communities, our schools, our families, our children, and the ministry of FCA.

Zachary Swearingen

Like many others, Zachary grew up as a Christian and gave their life to the Lord at a young age. From the age of 12, Zachary felt a calling from God to ministry, specifically to work with youth. his testimony, and much of what God has shown him, has been shaped through the realm of sports, as he played club soccer for many years. Unfortunately, like many kids today, athletics became an idol for Zachary, and they allowed it to become their identity. Entering high school, Zachary walked away from the Lord due to past hurts, but that did not change God's calling on their life. Even through times of addiction, God continued to pursue them until, one day, Zachary encountered God's love in a profound way and experienced transformation. Since 2020, when Zachary had that encounter with the Lord, their heart has been reignited with a passion for revival and a desire to see generations encounter His love and transforming power.In 2024, after 8 months without a job, God led Zachary to check out FCA. Little did they know that God had a plan to place them in a position not only to preach His Word but also to share their testimony through sports, helping kids avoid the traps they once fell into and find freedom in Christ. Zachary feels incredibly privileged to be part of what God is doing in this generation, witnessing revival breaking out in schools and sports teams. This is just the beginning!
